Barra de Navidad Mexico

Barra Navidad is a quaint fishing village located on the quiet so-called Costa Alegre in Jalisco and offers beautiful unspoilt beaches and very warm and friendly people. It was a shipyard at the time of Spanish conquest and the early Spanish exploration to the South Sea.

Today the city is dedicated to tourism and fishing, in the area you can fish, molluscs, prawns, dorado fish and sailfish. Apart from enjoying the town (which is very quiet and picturesque as i said) and the sea, you can also practice some surfing, water skiing and diving. The little city has a range of hotels, shops and good restaurants.

In front of Barra Navidad is the Navidad Island resort located on the border of the state of Jalisco, an hour and a half drive from Manzanillo. Here is housed a beautiful hotel with golf course facing the sea. There is a lagoon surrounded by coral reefs and a small marina so you can see yachts and boats in the area.

Barra Navidad is located approximately 200 km south of Puerto Vallarta, near Manzanillo, Colima. And I highly recommend it because from here you also have the advantage that you can visit other beaches nearby that probably will have heard ... as Tenacatita, Boca iguanas, Melaque, etc, all part of the beautiful Costa Alegre of Jalisco State which comprises 5 bays, Bahia de Navidad, Bahia Tenacatita, Costa Careyes, Chamela Bay and Costa Majahuas, all with their respective beaches many of them almost unspoilt where you are sure to have unforgettable moments.
